Part Time Conference Room Attendant

Conference Attendants Overview:

This position is a customer service/public relations position, responsible for all aspects of the conference suite and conference rooms, including creating a friendly and helpful atmosphere, ensuring that conference room users have everything necessary for a successful meeting.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the conference suite, including:

• Set-up and break down conference rooms as required, cleaning up after events.

• Operation of audio-visual equipment and internet applications (such as Skype, go-to meetings, youtube, power point), setting up and checking it prior to a meeting, as well as providing instruction to users as needed.

• Troubleshoot equipment failures during customer meetings if necessary.

• Prepare coffee and tea, and set up other refreshments (including catered food)for meetings as requested.

• Pick-up and/or receive food items for meetings.

• Keeping the conference suite clean and neat.

• Light building maintenance if required.

Requirements:
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, (usually on a scheduled basis). Total hours will vary depending on need.

• Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

• Must be able to read and write sufficiently to communicate with suppliers, supervisor, and conference room users.

• Verbal skills sufficient to communicate well with a varied clientele.

• Must have strong time management skills, customer service, attention to detail and be able to perform various tasks simultaneously.

• Must handle numerous activities at once, effectively and pleasantly.

• Able to work independently and prioritize tasks.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis for up to 75% of work time. Able to lift, carry and push up to 75 lbs.

• Requires standing/walking/bending throughout shift.

• Must have valid Michigan driver’s license.

Other duties:
• Maintain supplies in copy rooms and other locations, including delivery of copier paper, coffee supplies, and other related items.

• Other tasks as directed by supervisor.
