Israel & Overseas Senior Associate

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit seeks a Senior Associate to oversee its Michigan-Central Galilee Partnership2Gether (P2G) program as well as miscellaneous other Department responsibilities. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Partnership2Gether, including:

• Act as oversight and lead staff for P2G Steering Committee
• Oversee regular correspondence with volunteer Steering Committee members and staff
• Plan and run regular Steering Committee meetings
• Develop presentation notes for Chair(s)
• Cultivate relationships with Michigan and Israeli P2G volunteers
• Work with P2G Chair(s) and committee members to set P2G funding criteria and priorities
• Develop P2G goals and work plan annually with volunteers and Israeli staff
• Create and Oversee P2G Budget; manage fund transfers, payments, grants and funding requests
• Work closely with Federation and P2G staff in Israel
• Travel to Israel on an annual basis or as needed
• Plan P2G Steering committee visits (either to Israel or to Michigan); including all logistics
• Create and implement Detroit P2G programs, as needed
• Oversee marketing and branding for P2G
• Oversee alumni committee for P2G volunteers; including programming
• Act as liaison to P2G office in Israel for all visitors to the region (internal missions, external missions and family/independent visitors)
• Work with co-workers on their portfolio items as they relate to P2G.

Additional responsibilities to include:

• Perform high-level, confidential and other functions for the Director, Israel and Overseas
• Attend and assist at additional Israel and Overseas events/programs as needed.
• Attend weekly Department meetings, weekly 1:1 meetings with Department Director and regular mission coordination meetings
• Exercise good common sense, judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive material.
• Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Raiser’s Edge, Sharepoint, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Prezi and Microsoft Excel for daily communications and tasks
• Perform other assignments as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 5 years experience in a professional position
• Love of Israel
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point, Raisers Edge, Social Media, Google Docs, Microsoft Office 2010 and internet navigation
• Confidentiality a must
• Professional, well-organized and detail-oriented
• Thrives in a fast pace environment
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
• Excellent communication, people skills and customer service
• Adept at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in grammar
• Must be focused with attention to detail and have a strong sense of urgency
