Administrative Assistant

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit is looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of high-level administrative tasks while providing support to Managers and Directors.

About the Role
In this important role, the candidate will support a specific team within the organization.  This will include support to the senior members of that team along with general support and assistance to that department.    Some of the key responsibilities for this individual include the following:
• Performs high-level, confidential and administrative support functions in the designated department. 
• Stewards and communicates with significant donors on a daily basis.
• Utilizes donor database.
• Addresses and appropriately responds to donor phone inquiries.

Key Skills & Abilities
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to work independently and with a team, this role will be part of a team and will require collaboration with others frequently.
• Proficient in stewarding donor relationships and communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Confidentiality a must.
• Professional, well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Excellent communication, people skills and customer service.
• Prior experience assisting senior level management.
• Experience with calendar management for multiple Managers.
• Must be able to coordinate mailings and utilize mail merge.

Preferred Skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of social media.
• Prior experience with donor relations software would be helpful.
• Prior experience in formation of queries and use of Access or other relational databases a plus.
• Prior experience in donor stewardship a plus.
• Senior administrative assistance experience experience a plus.
• Prior experience with dictation would be helpful.
