About The Collective: The Collective, a program of the Jewish Federation of Detroit, convenes and supports Jewish education and engagement professionals across the community through professional learning, cohorts, gatherings, and collaborative initiatives. The Collective works to strengthen relationships across organizations, support educators and engagement professionals, and help foster a more connected Jewish community ecosystem.
Position Overview
The Collective Associate is a part-time, implementation-focused role that supports the coordination and day-to-day operations of key Collective initiatives, with a primary focus on ElevatED Detroit, a national initiative designed to strengthen the early childhood Jewish education workforce.
This role is highly collaborative and relational, helping to support participant engagement, communications, scheduling, logistics, and program coordination. The Collective Associate will work closely with local educators, agency partners, the national ElevatED team, and Federation staff to help ensure programs and cohorts run smoothly and participants feel supported and connected.
In addition to ElevatED, the Associate will provide logistical and administrative support for select Collective cohorts, gatherings, and professional learning opportunities.
The Collective Associate reports to the Associate Director of Planning & Agency Relations.

Duties and Responsibilities
ElevatED Coordination & Support
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation and logistics for ElevatED Detroit initiatives
- Serve as a first point of contact for participating educators, mentors, directors, and partner organizations
- Support participant communications, scheduling, registration, and follow-up
- Coordinate meetings, trainings, reflection sessions, and community gatherings
- Track attendance, participation, evaluations, and related program data
- Help identify and address participant needs or barriers to engagement
- Assist with outreach and recruitment efforts related to educators and program participants
- Participate in national ElevatED community coordinator meetings and trainings
- Provide logistical and coordination support for select Collective cohorts and professional learning initiatives
- Assist with participant communications, materials, and meeting coordination
- Support implementation of Collective gatherings and events in partnership with Federation event and marketing teams
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in program coordination, education, nonprofit work, community engagement, or a related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing independent responsibilities
- Experience with event coordination, participant engagement, or cohort-based programs preferred
- Familiarity with Jewish communal organizations, Jewish education, or early childhood education is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms preferred
