Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Associate to join our HR team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, this individual will support approximately 100 employees across a wide range of HR functions including 403(b) administration and tracking, staffing and recruitment, employee communications, professional development, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
403(b) Plan Administration:
  • Process daily distribution and loan requests
  • Coordinate semi-annual employee educational sessions
  • Serve as liaison to Federation partner agency HR representatives (6) and respond to employee inquiries
  • Distribute annual compliance notices and manage employer contributions
  • Reconcile annual agency billing and support internal/external audits
Recruitment & Onboarding:
  • Review resumes, schedule and conduct interviews, and perform reference checks
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts with hiring managers and communicate with candidates
  • Support recruitment and employee relations for JCSI (security team)
  • Assist with onboarding processes, background checks, and related tasks

Employee Communications:
  • Write internal HR update email newsletter
  • Create monthly birthday and work anniversary announcements
  • Act as liaison for the Leading Edge Employee Engagement Survey (biennially)
Systems Updates:
  • Maintain and update employee data in HRIS, including position and supervisor changes, password changes and misc updates
  • Support handbook updates and job postings
  • Complete employment verifications
Job Descriptions & Documentation:
  • Create and maintain up-to-date job descriptions across departments
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Plan and support internal staff events and special HR initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of HR
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis; knowledge of 403(b)/401(k) plans preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Quick learner and proactive problem solver.
  • Self-starter with sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality
