The D365 Solutions Architect is the technical owner of this implementation and the primary expert for all things Dynamics 365 going forward. This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for system configuration, data integrity, integrations, and the long-term health of our CRM platform. The right candidate brings deep D365 technical expertise and the communication skills to translate complex system realities into clear guidance for business stakeholders.Responsibilities:Solution Design & Architecture- Define technical architecture, data models, entity relationships, and security models for D365 CE (Sales, Service, Marketing) and Dataverse
- Lead discovery workshops, produce detailed design documents, and provide technical guidance during build and deployment
- Enforce architectural governance to ensure solutions are upgradeable, secure, and aligned with the Microsoft roadmap
- Evaluate and recommend Power Platform capabilities to address evolving business needs
System Configuration & Platform Ownership- Serve as the primary technical owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365, responsible for configuration, customization, and ongoing system health
- Design and implement custom entities, forms, views, workflows, business process flows, and business rules
- Manage solution deployments across Dev, UAT, and Production environments
- Administer user security, field security, and role-based access across all business units
- Own system job management and duplicate detection automation
Integration & Customization- Design and implement integrations between D365, Power Platform, and third-party systems (e.g., texting platforms, email marketing, document management, web forms)
- Design and execute data transformations and migrations using SSIS and related tooling
- Build and maintain custom integrations with external platforms such as Constant Contact, WordPress, Zoom, and Gravity Forms
- Ensure data integrity, deduplication, and record governance best practices are followed
Reporting & Analytics- Build and maintain reports using SSRS and Power BI connected to Dataverse
- Partner with data staff to support reporting requirements from internal stakeholders
- Translate business reporting needs into technical build requirements
Power Platform & Automation- Configure and maintain Power Automate flows to support operational workflows and system integrations
- Support Power Apps development for internal business processes
- Leverage Azure services where applicable to support integration and automation scenarios
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Partnership- Gather and document business requirements from non-technical stakeholders, translating needs into system configuration and design decisions
- Conduct gap analysis between current-state processes and D365 capabilities
- Partner with functional leads and end users to validate solutions and support UAT
- Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and manage expectations across the project lifecycle
Training & Support- Develop and deliver end user training on D365 configuration, processes, and workflows
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting post go-live
- Document system configuration, integration architecture, and support procedures
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM configuration, customization, and administration experience
- Demonstrated experience with SSIS for data migration, transformation, and integration
- Proficiency in Power Automate, custom workflows, and business process flow design
- Expert knowledge of Dataverse, Power Apps, and the broader Power Platform
- Strong understanding of D365 security model: business units, roles, teams, and field security
- Experience managing solution deployments across environments (Dev / UAT / PROD)
- Strong understanding of Azure integration services and SQL Server / SSRS reporting
- Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical design and configuration
- Excellent communication skills; ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and manage expectations
- Comfortable operating in a lean nonprofit environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Customization and Configuration
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
- Experience with SSRS reporting and/or Power BI connected to Dataverse
- Prior experience migrating from Blackbaud CRM or similar nonprofit CRM platforms
- Familiarity with SharePoint / Dynamics 365 document library integration
- Nonprofit sector experience, particularly in fundraising or constituent management contexts
