About the Community Relations Team:
The Community Relations team within the Jewish Federation of Detroit focuses on developing allies, creating opportunities to engage and educate or neighbors and advocating for the interests of the Jewish community in media, with local elected officials and through incident response. The Community Relations Associate will report to the Director, Community Relations. 

Duties and Responsibilities
 
•    Coordinate and execute community relations programs, events, educational trips and other initiatives, including logistics, planning, and communication.
•    Draft well-written, detail-oriented communications materials including stakeholder outreach, press materials, talking points, newsletters, meeting agendas, program materials and other content. 
•    Assist in representing Federation at local events, including serving as a liaison to community organizations and leaders. 
•    Support and assist in facilitating Federation advocacy efforts.
•    Identify and develop opportunities to advance initiatives that promote the mission of the Community Relations Department.

Qualifications:
•    Experience in community outreach, program management, or a similar role is preferred.
•    Demonstrated commitment to serving the Jewish community is preferred. 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Comfort with and ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences.
•    Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•    Experience with event planning and execution is a plus.
•    Knowledge of media and public relations is a plus.
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Ability to travel within the local community as needed.
•    A passion for building relationships and making a positive impact in the community.
