Who are we looking for?
Are you organized, energetic, and passionate about building community? NEXTGen Detroit is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our dynamic team. In this role, you'll manage multiple tasks, handle confidential information, and contribute to planning unforgettable events. Strong communication skills, tech proficiency (MS Office), and attention to detail are key.

Primary Responsibilities  
•    Performing high-level, confidential and administrative support functions in the NEXTGen Detroit Department, assisting team members with various tasks  
•    Maintain the Director’s calendar, schedule meetings and appointments
•    Responsible for assisting with all aspects of event planning, including scheduling meetings, booking rooms and refreshments, follow-up of RSVPs and preparing materials
•    Using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for daily communications and tasks 
•    Use of Reach, Asana, Mailchimp, internal database and Google platforms as needed 
•    Work with staff to manage social media presence on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc. 
•    Coordinating mailings with IT and Marketing Departments
•    Addressing and appropriately responding to phone and email inquiries 
•    Assist with registration at major events throughout the year
•    Role will include working 2 evenings a month, periodic weekend events

Required Skills & Abilities
•    High School diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred.
•    Confidentiality a must.
•    Professional, well-organized and detail-oriented 
•    Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
•    Excellent communication, people skills and customer service.
•    Adept at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
•    Prior experience assisting Executive level management a plus
